Psalm 1:1-3

Psalm 1:1-3
Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law, day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.

I see the chaos of the world,
The trouble and the rage,
And I am left to wonder when
We got to this sad stage.

I do not relish what’s to come,
But I have faith that You
Have, long since, laid the plan
That’s going to bring us through.

So, I will do the best I can
To help those on my way,
And keep my own heart free of rage
Despite the world each day.

I’ll try to walk the path You walked
And live life faithfully.
I’ll strive to live within this world,
Not let it live in me.
