My Balancing Act - Re-Posted

Trying to find some balance here,
Feeling like I can’t win,
Until I hear You speak to me.
You calm me down again.

I hear Your voice in that of friends,
My loving family,
Reminding me I’m not alone,
Like them, You're here with me.

That doesn't mean the problem's gone,
That ball’s still in the air.
But I can find some balance now,
Because I know You’re there.

Focusing on Grace - Re-Posted

The day started with wind and rain
The traffic stood in place.
The only way that I got through
Was focusing on Grace.

I know I’ve said this more than once,
Yet each day reminds me
There’s trouble all along the path
But Grace is what I see.

I try to look up from the mud,
And spot the bright rainbow.
Both come as a result of rain,
But one is Grace, I know.

So, when you feel anger or pain
Take you in its embrace,
Remember there is also joy
And focus on the Grace.

Living In God's Light - Re-Posted

Arise, arise and greet the dawn,
Let it waken your soul.
Then lift your voice to praise the Lord
That He might make you whole.

Arise, arise and greet the dawn,
For God has called your name
And He redeemed you from all sin
With a love you can claim.

Arise, arise and greet the dawn,
For death has lost the fight.
It cannot hold within its grasp
Those living in God’s light.

1 Corinthians 15:54-55
When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”

One of Those Days

There are those days, the sun won’t shine,
And faith is hard to find,
Those days when every hope I had
Has been left far behind.

Those are the days I call to You
Through tears of such despair
That I can hardly form the words,
Much less hope that You care.

Yet it is in such times as these
That I can feel You near.
You may not answer as I wish,
But Your presence is clear.

You do not listen to the doubts,
The faith that’s still not strong.
You answer to the broken heart
That You’ve loved all along.

You hold me ‘til the weeping stops
And I can think again,
Then You remind me of the place
That I hold in Your plan.

You love me through the emptiness,
Until I understand
That You have not abandoned me.
I'm still safe in Your hand.

Psalm 38:21-22
Lord, do not forsake me; do not be far from me, my God. Come quickly to help me, my Lord and my Savior.

For Watching Over Me - Re-Posted

In all the things that I may do,
Dear Lord, watch over me.
In all my searching for the truth,
Show me what I should see.
In going out and coming in,
Please be where I must be
And when I’m trapped within my sin
Dear Lord, please set me free.

You always keep a loving watch
While I go through each day,
I’m thankful that You’re always there;
In grateful thanks, I pray.

My Walk With You - Re-Posted

I’ve loved you longer than I’ve lived,
You’ve loved me longer still,
And, though the world may call to me,
I’ll answer to Your will.

For all the world is meaningless
If You are lost to me,
And it is when I live in You
That I’m who I should be.

So let me walk upon this earth,
But let me live in You
Until the day You call me home,
And my walk here is through.

Psalm 103:11
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him;

Focusing on Your Peace -Re-Posted

Lord, help me focus in today.
Give me a place of calm
Where I can go and remember
That I rest in Your palm.

Today will be so filled with noise
And things that can go wrong,
But it should also be a day
Of rejoicing and song.

So help me, Lord, to stay in peace,
And do my very best.
Then I’ll rely on You, Dear Lord,
To handle all the rest!

Patient Impatience - Re-Posted

I never was a patient soul,
But I will wait on You.
And even though the wait is long,

I’ll gladly see it through.

For your timeline’s not quite like mine,
You view is longer, too.
You see the things that I look past,
Things I don’t want to do,
And know that those steps I would skip

Will help me to reach You.

So, though I wish this part was done,
I’ll do as I’m asked to
And I will wait upon You, Lord.

I know You’ll bring me through.

Proverbs 8:34
Blessed are those who listen to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway.
