Little Miralces

The rising moon, the setting sun,
The wind across the sea,
All are miracles most profound,
Yet mundane as can be.

We take for granted miracles
That we see every day,
But they are still miraculous,
Despite what we might say.

And miracles need not be great,
To be miraculous,
The little things that fill our lives
Are miracles to us.

Don’t overlook the little things,
For they are blessings, too.
They are the miracles God made
Specifically for you.

Sufficient For The Day

As busy as the day has been,
There was some time rest.
It seemed to me as if You knew
The mix that would be best.

It’s like You know me through and through
And love me anyway.
Why else would You take time for me
To make a perfect day.

Oh Lord, I know tomorrow waits
With all that it may bring,
But for right now, I’ll take this day
And, with grateful heart, sing!

Matthew 6:34
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Tell Me the Story

Tell me the story one more time,
Though I know it by heart.
Tell me about my redeemer,
That is my favorite part.

The story started long ago,
It takes a while to tell,
But I will listen faithfully.
Though I know it so well.

I love the part in Bethlehem
And in Jerusalem.
In fact, I love all of the tale
When it is about Him.

So, tell me the story again,
How He came to save me.
I love the part where He rose up
And set my spirit free!

1 Chronicles 16:8
Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples!

On Watch

The world is lingering in sleep,
Though dawn is drawing nigh,
But I am waiting for You, Lord,
Beneath the starlit sky.

I know that You are not far off,
That You are on Your way,
And I thought I would just keep watch
In case You come today.

Lord, if You don’t get here today,
I’ll wait until You do.
But I’ll sit here a while longer
And keep watching for You.

Matthew 25:13
Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.

His Peace

Let joy and hope lift up your heart,
And let faith be your guide
As you pass through storms of life
And ride the rushing tide.

Until you come to rest at last,
Let His peace fill your heart.
For though life’s storms will still rage on,
They won’t tear you apart.

Matthew 8:27
And the men marveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?”
