Lie Down and Sleep

Lord, I lay down each night to sleep
And trust my world to You.
You’ve kept me safe for all these years
And always seen me through.

I don’t think I could sleep at night
If You were not nearby
And I was not tucked safely in
Beneath Your loving eye.

But You are here and I can sleep,
I’m safe within Your care,
And, Lord, I thank You with full heart
For always being there.

Psalm 4:8
In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Choose Well

Mark well the path you choose to walk
For there is much at stake.
Do not discard the sacrifice
That was made for your sake.

Do not abuse the blood He shed
To save you from your sin
By choosing to turn back to walk
In that sin once again.

Don’t let this world draw you back in
When He has called your name.
Where evil seeks to turn your heart
Deny the lie its claim.

Mark well the path you choose to walk
Follow where He has led,
The world may offer you detours,
Stay close to Him instead.

Matthew 7:13-14
“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

His Justice

We give great weight to our demands,
And rage to no avail.
For it is not the plans of man,
But God’s, which will prevail.

It is not man whose word is law,
Nor will it ever be,
And man cannot dictate the truth
That rules eternity.

Though we may rage like wind tossed waves
Upon a battered shore
It is God’s justice that will flow,
And His Word will restore.

Amos 5:24
But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.
