My Light and Truth

I seek You in the gold of dawn.
I call Your name at night.
Lord, You have always answered me,
You are my perfect light.

I lift my heart up to You, Lord,
I rest my soul in You.
This world is but a fleeting thought,
You’re all I know is true!

Psalm 43:3
Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling!

Like A Child

When this life weighs heavy on me
And grief drags at my heart,
I find myself down on my knees
Praying for a new start.

But maybe what I really need
Is an old start, once more.
It could be childhood’s heart of joy
That I need to restore.

In childhood, faith was easier,
But as the years went by
My faith’s been tested more than once,
And I have learned to cry.

Yet when I lift a tearful face
To rejoice in Your name,
Somehow the faith, I thought was lost,
Is, once more, mine to claim.

Lord, when this life weighs heavily,
Remind me I’m Your child
And let my faith flow boundlessly
That my joy may run wild.

Luke 18:17
Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”

A Moment Of Your Time

I have a quiet moment, Lord,
May I spend it with You?
I really don’t have much to say,
Just a small thought or two.

You sent me a message last night,
Reminding me You care
And that You heard my worried thoughts.
It helps to know You’re there.

You walked beside me through this day
And kept me on the track
Of counting all my blessings twice,
Forgetting what I lack.

You walked me out, then brought me home,
You helped me the whole way,
But, if You have a bit more time,
I’d love for You to stay
And chat with me a little while
To finish off the day.

Matthew 11:29
Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
