Harvest of Faith - Re-Posted

The harvest is now growing near
And summer passes on,
But there will still be sweeter days
Before the season’s gone.

We cannot know, when spring first blooms,
What fruits autumn will bear,
But still we work in patient faith
That those fruits will be there.

We count the blessings yet to be,
By keeping faith in place,
And work to bring good fruit to bear
While trusting in God’s Grace.

Psalm 128:2
You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours

The Morning Mist - Re-Posted

I sometimes worry that I am lost,
My fears start closing in,
Then I recall that I’m redeemed!
You’ve swept away my sin,
As You break up the morning mist
Until Your light shines in.

Isaiah 44:22
I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.

The Impending Storm - Re-Posted

I see the storm is lowering
I hear the thunder growl,
And, though I think I’m safe from harm,
I tremble at its scowl.

I know the storm is on its way,
I feel it in the air;
It crackles with the static charge
Of anger and despair.

There seems to be so little hope
In all I see today,
But I know that is far from true.
That’s why I pray each day

That You will give me strength enough
To stand against the squall,
And faith enough to ride the waves
Until You calm them all.

Luke 8:24
The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm.

Wondrous Love - Re-Posted

In the beginning there was God,
Then He brought life to all.
And still today His handiwork
Answers His every call.

The earth is rich in all the life
Formed by His loving hand.
The heavens sweep beyond our dreams
And move at His command.

How vast and varied are the works
He has shaped in His name.
How much more wondrous is the Love
That each of us may claim.

Genesis 2:1
Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.

Photo from LT from her trip to Africa a few years back. Again, thank you, L, for letting me use these amazing photos.

The Flawless Source - Re-Posted

I cannot keep my schedule straight,
I’m late, or I’m too soon.
I have to write down each day’s chores,
My desk is tossed and strewn.
I run in circles half the time;
A silly, lost buffoon.
Yet with no effort shown at all
You guide the rising moon.

You place the stars upon their track
And keep the sun on course.
The universe bows down to You,
For You’re the greater force.
For all the order that I seek,
My means are crude and coarse,
But Yours are effortless and true
For You’re the flawless source.

Job 25:2
Dominion and awe belong to God; he establishes order in the heights of heaven.

Living In God's Whole - Re-Posted

I used to live with daily fear,
My worries ran my life.
Then I began to hear Your voice…
And I still face the strife,
But it no longer engulfs me
With fears I can’t control.
For fear is a small part of life
When you live in God’s Whole.

Isaiah 41:13
For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

Perfect Gifts of Grace - Re-Posted

There are no shadows in the light,
They fall outside its reach,
And the wave never seeks its rest
Until it’s on the beach.

There is a rhythm in the world,
Patterns of time and place.
The good and perfect gifts of His
Pure and unending Grace.

When I start moving too quickly
That truth blurs out of view
And with it goes any hope of
Catching a glimpse of You.

So, even when the day gets wild,
With all its hurried pace,
I need to take time to seek out
Those perfect gifts of Grace.

James 1:17
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

This is the second sunset photo from SNW. I think it is absolutely breathtaking and what a gift from both Sweet S and from God!
