The Peace I Need

I need to feel the stillness now
That I have missed all day.
The world turned quickly on its course
And nearly slipped away.

But all along You were right there,
Keeping an eye on me.
The stillness in the maelstrom
That I just failed to see.

You are the peace I’ll always need,
The stillness in my soul.
When all my world’s falling apart,
Your peace will keep me whole.

Mark 4:39
And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

On My Feet

Today has been a rough one, Lord,
But I’m still on my feet.
Though that may not be much to claim,
It’s better than defeat.

Tomorrow looms with its own woes
And worries by the score,
But I will rest tonight in peace
Despite what lies in store.

For You, who formed me with a word,
Hold me safe in Your hand.
Despite what I’ve been through today,
You are still in command!

Psalm 23:4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Stand Rejoicing

I lift my heart up from despair,
Nor will I walk in shame.
I am a child of heaven’s king!
In faith, I make that claim.

For He told us, don’t live in fear,
But place our hope in Him.
Thus, I will stand rejoicing still
When everything seems grim.

I’ll do what I can in this life,
And give to Him the rest.
He is the master of creation,
And in Him we are blessed.

Psalm 56:4
In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?
