Psalm17:7-9

Psalm17:7-9
Show me the wonders of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes. Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings from the wicked who are out to destroy me, from my mortal enemies who surround me.

Oh Lord, I call to You in grief,
The sorrow tears at me.
I cannot seem to break its hold,
And it won’t let me be.

A year and more has passed me by
And still I weep in pain.
I thought by now it would have eased,
But those tears still remain.

I’m sorely pressed, and can’t escape,
My hope lies in Your strength.
Please help me fight this enemy
Or I will fail, at length.

Oh, You, who are the heart of love,
Hide me beneath Your wing
And lead me to find joy again
That only You can bring.
