Peace In The Storm

I called to You from the storm’s heart,
I prayed Your peace was mine.
I stood in faith that it would flow
Like water, sweet and fine,
Until it stilled the rising storm
With grace and peace divine.

I called to You from the storm’s heart
And You answered my plea.
For, though the storm still swirled in spate,
Your peace washed over me
And I no longer felt the winds.
You heard, and set me free.

Philippians 4: 7
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Working Together

Thank You, oh Lord, for those who walked
The path with me today.
They were a blessing and gift
Each step along the way.

They shared the work, lightened the load
With laughter and a smile.
Working together in service
Made the long day worthwhile.

Today could have been easier,
But it could have been worse.
With them, I look back and I smile,
Instead of weep or curse.

Thank You, oh Lord, for those who walked
The path with me today.
They clearly stood within the grace
With which You fill each day.

Romans 8:28
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

My Talent

I used to think I understood
What You wanted from me,
But more and more I’m wondering
Just what I’m meant to be.

I want to serve You in my life,
But I’m not brave or strong,
And I do not have what it takes
To bring the lost along.

I want to do what I should do
To live my life in You,
But I’m not certain that I know
What You need me to do.

Lord, I know that my redemption
Is born of Grace, not deeds,
But we are called to help, also,
In this world of great needs.

I want to stand with those who serve,
Whose work delights You so.
Please help me find my talent, Lord,
And help that talent grow.

Matthew 25:21
His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’
