Psalm 40:4-5

Psalm 40:4-5
Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods. Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.

Like the stars in the midnight sky
Expanding beyond view,
So are the blessings in my life,
And all, Lord, come from you.

I cannot count the moments lived
Without seeing Your Grace.
Your blessings are like cheerful blooms
That burst forth every place.

I think my life was always blessed,
But I could never see
The blessings scattered everywhere
With my sight fixed on me.

But since I’ve learned to trust in You,
My point of view has changed
And I am overwhelmed by all
The blessings You’ve arranged.

These days I see blessings burst forth
Like crocuses in spring
With all the joy and hope that those
Bright blossoms tend to bring.

I could not count them, if I tried,
They outnumber the stars
But those who walk in faith with You
Count such blessings as ours.
