Psalm
81:11-12
“But
my people would not listen to me; Israel would not submit to me. So I gave them
over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own devices.
He
always let us make the choice,
But
choices can wrong.
I’ve
ended up too many times
On
a path that’s too long.
I’m
too stubborn to turn around
And
head back the right way,
But
I’m to proud to ask for help
When
I bow down to pray.
I
just keep slogging through the muck
Until
I must give in
And
ask You, in my great despair,
To
lead me back again.
Why
do we choose to go astray,
When
You give us a choice?
Why
can’t we live within Your rules
And
listen to Your voice?
