Psalm 69:1-2

Psalm 69:1-2
Save me, O God, for the waters have come up to my neck. I sink in the miry depths, where there is no foothold. I have come into the deep waters; the floods engulf me.

The floods of chaos rise once more,
And spill across the land.
It threatens to drown any voice
That queries its command.

I watch it rise in frustration,
Wondering what to do.
But I know what I can’t handle
I need to give to You.

And so, I give to You this day
The rising tide we face.
I pray that You will stem the flood
And wash us in Your Grace.

I pray that we can stand upon
The Rock that is our strength
Until this tide of anarchy
Withdraws again at length.
