Psalm 78:2-4

Psalm 78:2-4
I will open my mouth with a parable; I will utter hidden things, things from of old— things we have heard and known, things our ancestors have told us. We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done.

We teach our children of The Word,
As we ourselves were taught.
We tell them of the miracles,
The wonders He has wrought.

We speak of grace beyond our due
And of His sacrifice,
Of Blessings born of redemption
For which He paid the price.

We tell them of His Holiness,
The life we ought to live,
The truths that He has shown to us,
The love we ought to give.

We teach our children of The Word,
That they may teach theirs, too.
For all that He has done for us,
It’s what we ought to do.
