Seeking Your Peace

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I sought Your peace within the world,

But did not find it there.

I sought it by the ocean waves

And in the wild sea air.

I sought it on the mountain’s rim

Beneath the snow’s bright glare.

I sought Your peace within the world,

Until, in near despair,

I realized what I had sought

Was with me, everywhere.

 

For I what I sought was within me,

Like some familiar song,

Your peace, like You, was in my heart,

And had been all along!

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
