It stands alone, each day at dawn,

To greet the rising sun,
And joyfully it lifts its face
As each new day’s begun.
 
It does not fear the night that’s past,
For light shines out each dawn,
And, even in the dark of night,
In its heart light shines on.
 
It stands apart from all its kind
Living not in their shade
For it knows that, only in light,
Is God’s true face displayed.
 
2 Corinthians 4:6
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.
