The Edge of Dawn

I feel the weight that held me down
Slowly dropping away,
Becoming more a memory
With every passing day.

You broke the chains of misery
And washed my world in light,
Turning the wrong that I had lived
Into a hope filled right.

I didn’t understand, back then,
How dark life had become,
But, standing on the edge of dawn,
I see where I’ve come from.

A life that’s lived with little hope,
Is not much life at all,
But You returned hope to my life
When You answered my call.

Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
