Hide and Rest

I’m grateful for the work I do,
The people at my side,
But there are times I simply need
To run away and hide.

I long to find the quiet place
Where no one else will be,
The place where I can be alone,
Just You, Your peace, and me.

I seem to grow wearier, Lord,
Than I did in my youth.
I can’t say that surprises me,
But it’s a heavy truth.

I know that this world still needs me
And I have work to do,
But I am grateful, now and then,
To hide and rest in You.

Jeremiah 31:25-26
For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.” At this I awoke and looked, and my sleep was pleasant to me.
