Needless Worries and Leaves

My worries are like autumn leaves
Still clinging to the bough
If I would just leave them alone
Most go away, somehow.

For all the problems that I  fear
Are more than those I’ll know
And waiting for “that shoe to drop”
Just seems to make them grow.

The more I worry on a fear
That’s not a problem yet,
The more I twist myself in knots
With no real need to fret.

But when I leave them in your hand
Most simply go away
And I can better handle those
Real problems that do stay!

Jeremiah 17:8
They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
