Counting On Friends

Some days the chores are so piled up
We don’t know where to start
Until we grasp the starting point
Is in a dear friend’s heart.

They open up their hearts and hands
To all that each day brings.
Thus, even boring chores become
So much more pleasant things

When shared with friends who simply take
The time to lend a hand.
They never question why you’ve called
They simply understand

That any task shared with a friend’s
A task that’s been made light
And someday they will need a hand
To set a task to right.

I thank you, friends, for all the smiles
Your loving hearts employ;
Thank you for taking dreary days
And filling them with joy.
