Wages and Memories

The darkness that once touched my life
Still haunts me, now and then.
Though I know I have been redeemed,
I still recall that sin.

I know that God has forgiven
The sins I left behind,
But I still find them lingering
In corners of my mind.

Forgiveness does not mean what’s past
Cannot impact today,
It’s the sins, not the memories,
That have been washed away.

But even the worst memories
Dissolve within His Light.
I am redeemed, I am reborn,
His Word is my delight.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
