Weary, In Need of Rest

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Today has been a long one, Lord,

With too much still to do,

But I am finding I need time

To rest a while with You.

 

I spent the day getting things done,

Yet there is so much more,

And now a long week lies ahead

With much more work in store.

 

I know that You put me right here

Where You need me to be,

But sometimes “why” is difficult

For me to clearly see.

 

If You don’t mind and You have time,

Though there’s still work to do,

I’d like to just sit still a while

And spend some time with You.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
