Crashing Waves

I see the waves rush up on shore,
Then turn back to the sea,
As if they have no plan in place,
No sense of where to be.

Sometimes we find ourselves that way,
Tossed by the tides of life,
We seem to flounder in between
The chaos and the strife.

That restless life of turbulence
Is not by His intent.
It’s born out of a broken world,
In souls twisted and bent.

But in His Word lie the answers,
In the lessons He taught
Lives the forgiveness of the sins
Our restless lives have brought.

The world is fraught with crashing waves,
But, for those who have heard,
There is a place of peace within
The promise of The Word.

Ephesians 4:14-15
so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ
