Passing Through

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The world will call to us each day,

Offering what we crave,

But, without caution, such desire

Can make of us, its slave.

 

We’re called to live within this world,

Yet hold ourselves apart,

That we might not lose sight of Him,

Whose love should fill each heart.

 

Live in the world as you are called,

Don’t let it live in you.

For this is not our final home,

We are “just passing through.”

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
