I Lift My Eyes To You

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

While others set their gaze on earth

In search of wealth and fame,

Lord, I will turn my eyes to You

And praise Your holy name.

 

I will not seek the wealth of earth,

Its glory’s not for me.

My heart is focused on the wealth

Of Your eternity.

 

My hope lies in the redemption,

For which You paid the price

And I will never be worthy

Of such a sacrifice.

 

There is no fame that I could seek

That matters much to me,

When it stands in comparison

To that one victory.

 

I understand the lure of fame,

Of wealth and power, too.

Let others fix their gaze on earth

I’ll keep my eyes on You.
