Walking the Dark Paths

We all must walk on darkened paths,
No way leads straight through light.
The trick is not to be seduced
By the lies of the night.

They’re all so tempting, feel so good,
And “just a bit can’t hurt”,
But they can break you ‘til you fall
Despondent in the dirt.

Pass through the dark ways, for you must,
But don’t linger too long;
Although it may sound sweet enough
Death waits within its song.

Keep walking through the darkest vale,
Keep moving through the night.
He’ll never leave you in the dark,
But you must choose the light.
