At Day's End - Re-posted

God just stopped by to query me;

Child, what have you done today?
Did you offer a kinder word
Than what you wanted to say?
Did you lift up a weary heart
By sharing with it a smile?
Or make another’s burden light
By chatting with them a while?
Did you reach out and pray for help
For one lost along the way?
And did you think to offer thanks
For the grace you live each day?
                              
All of the questions that He asked
Are weighing on me tonight.
Tomorrow I'll make them my guide,
And try to bring Him delight.
