Whispering Waters

The quiet waters, speak of peace,
I hear them in my sleep
Reminding me of vows I made
That I still need to keep.

They speak of paths I’ve not yet walked
That I must still traverse,
Of things I could have done better
Though they could have been worse.

I hear them whisper of the tears
That I’ve shed in the past
And of the tears that are to come,
Though sorrow will not last.

The speak of joys that lie ahead,
Abundance born of grace,
And remind me that in God’s plan
I have a reserved place.

The quiet waters, whispering,
Remind me to be still,
For only when I hear Him speak
Can I answer God’s will.
