A Stranger Welcomed

I thank You for the gathering,
Though it was very small.
It filled me with the peaceful joy
I needed most of all.

I answered when You bade me go,
Though I was still unsure,
But I found myself welcomed in
A love gentle and pure.

For though I was an outsider,
They offered me such grace
That I had no doubt I saw You
When I looked in each face.

The love of God’s alive and well,
And it blooms vibrantly.
For I was a stranger to them,
But they still welcomed me.

Matthew 25:35
For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me
