Small, But Loved

I cannot fully comprehend
Why You’d take time to see
One so small, insignificant,
Someone, in fact, like me.

I’ll never make a difference
In this world’s day to day,
And I won’t be remembered long
When I am called away.

Yet You have set Your eye on me
And called me by my name.
You paid for me in Your own blood
And washed me free of shame.

I’ll never understand why You
Would stop to notice me,
But Your love for such a small soul
Is my blessed mystery.

Isaiah 55:8
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
