Evening and Peace

The soft breeze rustles in the leaves,
The wind chimes start to sing
As wild geese fly above the trees,
Such peace the evening brings.

Before the night chores can begin,
After the day is through,
That is the one moment in time
I know that I’ll hear You.

I sometimes lose track of Your voice,
Within the day’s loud din,
But when the evening settles down
I can hear You again.

The night can hold such sweet allure,
A dance of stars and moon,
But in the darkness, I grow weak
And drift to sleep too soon.

Lord keep Your eye on me each day
And guard me through each night,
But please know that evenings with You
Are my greatest delight.

Romans 15:33
May the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
