Psalm 149:4

Psalm 149:4
For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation.

I want to be more like You were,
When You walked here on earth,
But I fall painfully below
That measure of true worth.

Yet You still offer me a grace
That’s far beyond my due.
Such mercy is not my instinct,
That gift is born in You

But, when I try to live the life
That You’ve laid out for me,
I find I have more Grace to give,
And, with it, more mercy.

Teach me to listen humbly, Lord,
And love with all my heart.
Remind me that it’s You in me
That is my better part.
