My Restless Mind

My mind is scattered everywhere,
It’s always on the move.
Fluttering randomly, as if
It has something to prove.

I try to find a quiet place,
Hoping that it will land,
But I can’t get it to be still
Enough to simply stand.

Even as I lay down at night
To seek the peace of sleep
It’s always up, moving around
With worries it must keep.

Oh Lord, I think I’m losing it,
My mind just can’t be still.
Yet I hope, when I pray tonight,
To still it to Your will.

Exodus 14:14
The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.
