The Busy Day

Oh Lord, I’m weary from this day

And hunger for some sleep,
But I have so much still to do
And I’m in way too deep.
 
Today has been a blessing, Lord,
Of that there is no doubt.
Yet even blessings can leave me
Exhausted and worn out,
 
And there is still much to be done
Before I am all through.
That’s why I’m taking this moment
To ask for help from You.
 
So Lord, I ask You for the strength
I’ll need to carry on
And for the promise of true rest
When this day’s chores are gone.
