On the Rock

With both feet firmly on the rock
I face what comes my way,
But right now I’ll admit, for me,
That’s harder every day.

I get a lead, I take a chance,
But it’s not meant to be.
I’m starting to believe that there
Is just no place for me.

I think I may have lost my chance;
Though I look, I can’t see
The path that I am meant to take.
I weep, I want to flee.

But then I read Your word again,
I calm down and take stock.
Though I feel battered by this storm,
I’m standing on The Rock.

Psalm 18:2
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
