Dancing


They danced as if they knew but joy
And I felt my heart soar
With happiness I had not thought
That I’d feel any more.

I watched them playing on the path
They danced and whirled with glee,
Their laughter echoed through the wood
And woke something in me.
 
Why is it that a child’s delight
Reminds me how to sing
And fills my heart with happiness
That only they can bring?

You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
