By Grace, Not Works

However hard you work each day,
Whatever you achieve,
It matters only in this world,
It’s worthless when you leave.

We store up wealth to keep us safe,
To make our lives more fun,
But we can never store enough
For when this life is done.

So it is fortunate for us
That wealth’s been set aside,
Wealth we can claim only through faith
And not through earthly pride.

So live well in this life you have,
As well as you can live,
But know redemption comes from God
And is but His to give.

Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
