Contemplating Your Glory - Re-Posted

When I sit still, take time to think,
I’m sometimes mystified
At why you would step down to earth,
And then be crucified.

You cast the stars across the sky
And call them all by name,
Yet you chose to become so small
And suffer for our shame.

What is it that you see in us
That made that sacrifice
Something that You would choose to do,
Paying an awful price?

You are so great, we are so small.
It’s hard to contemplate
A love so rich I cannot help
But want to emulate.

2 Corinthians 3:18
And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
