Cease My Squawking - Re-Posted

Today the ruckus of the world
Intruded on my mind.
I found myself surrendering
To things I’d left behind,

To angry thoughts and frustrations
That I’d long since let go.
And I displayed a harsh disdain
That I should not still know.

Then I looked up and saw your face
And realized my shame.
I asked you to renew my faith,
Acknowledging the blame,

That I might turn again to you
And make the better choice
To cease my squawking and instead
Lift up a grateful voice

Proverbs 28:13
Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
