Holding On

It alone keeps lingering on
When all the rest are done.
It’s long since past that moment when
The bragging rights were won,
And yet it lingers on the branch
Where winter’s left its mark.
The only spark of color in
A world gone grey and dark.

It don’t know what its purpose is,
Its plan or its intent,
I only know its message is
Most surely heaven sent.
For I was close to giving up
With nothing left to show,
Until I saw what faith can do
When it will not let go.

1 Timothy 1:19
holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith.
