The Colors of Joy

What joyful colors, born in fall,
Before the world’s long sleep.
As if to offer sweeter dreams,
A drowsing world to keep.

Thus was it in the Lord’s design,
That even winter’s chill
Might not be cold enough to freeze
The autumn’s vibrant thrill.

So in the darker days to come
Remember with delight
The joyful moments of today,
The color and the light.
