The Weight of the World

It felt as if the world’s full weight
Was bearing down on me,
Even the clouds were lowering
As far as I could see;
And each new worry piling on
So overwhelmingly.

But then the clouds broke on the hills,
The sun brushed down the rim
And there, where one moment before
The world had been so grim,
I caught, upon the snow capped peak,
A fleeting glimpse of him.
