Mountain Shadow Mystery - Re-Posted

The colors burst across the sky
In pink and gold array,
And then I noticed a dark line
Cut through their bright display.

For, as the sun rose in the sky,
It brushed the mountain’s side.
Throwing some clouds in pale relief,
Casting its shadow wide.

Had I not known that it was there
To cause the pattern change,
I might have thought what’s beautiful
Was merely odd or strange.

And thus it’s well to keep in mind,
Sometimes we cannot see

The hand that shapes tomorrow's path,
And knows what it will be.

But whether we know He is there,
Somewhere just out of sight,
It's His command that moves the sun
to scale the mountains height

And cast its shadow on the dawn
For all the world to see.
You may not know that He is there,
But it is clear to me!
