Because You Love Me

I do not have to love You, Lord,

Neither must You love me,

But love I do, in gratitude,
And You love through mercy.
For You have done much more for me
Than I could do for You,
And the sacrifice you made
Assures I’ll love You, too.
So, since You loved me beyond death,
I joyfully love You.
I know that it is not the same,
But I pray it will do.

I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.
