We labor in this life for wealth
For honor and for fame,
Only to leave it when we go
For someone else to claim.
What is the point in all of this
If our labor’s in vain?
What benefit is there for man,
What profit will remain?
Yet, there is great profit in life,
A blessing that’s so clear,
To work as if working for God
And all that He holds dear.
Work diligently at each task,
Avoid unneeded strife,
Offer His Word to all you meet
And live a faith filled life.
The seeds we sow, the harvest reaped
Are bountiful with grace,
And that’s the great inheritance
That we leave in our place.
Ecclesiastes 2:18
I hated all my toil in which I toil
under the sun, seeing that I must leave it to the man who will come after me
Colossians 3:23-24
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not
for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your
reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
