Lie Down and Sleep

Within the stillness of the night
I hear the crickets sing,
I hear the wind chimes start the song
The evening breezes bring.

Oh Lord, I’m resting in the peace
That comes at end of day
When all the worries of my week
Are neatly tucked away.

I know that they’ll be back again
When I start tomorrow,
But, for tonight, I’ll rest without
That worry or sorrow.

I’ll rest within the quiet night,
My trust I place in You,
And in the dawn I’ll rise once more
To start my work anew.

Psalm 4:8
In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
