What Endures

The wind sweeps through the barren land,
Rivers rush to the sea,
The earth turns ever ‘round the sun
And God’s love has healed me.

So many truths are unchanging.
Despite our fleeting span,
God’s love eternal is the best
And truest hope of man.

The treasures of this life are vain,
They crumble in time’s wake.
My treasure lies in the blood shed
For this lost sinner’s sake.

We lose sight of what matters most.
Neither the quest, nor goal
Will bring to us the preferred end;
A renewed, redeemed soul.

He is the enduring treasure,
The one true wealth I claim.
For I, who once was desolate,
Now flourish in His name.

Ecclesiastes 1:3
What does man gain by all the toil at which he toils under the sun?
