Woe to you when you use the Word
To bar heaven’s wide gate,
When you distort the grace of God
Through your own sin and hate.
Woe to you when you’re called to lead
Those walking in His way
And you, through your own arrogance,
Instead lead them astray.
Woe to you when those in your care
Are turned away from grace
Because you closed your own heart to
His Word in the first place.
Matthew 23:13 -15
“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For
you shut the kingdom of heaven in people's faces. For you neither enter
yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in. Woe to you, scribes and
Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single
proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child
of hell as yourselves.
