Matthew 23: 29-32 The Woes Part 7

Oh woe to you, you brood of snakes
Who wallow in the sin
Of looking back with flawless sight,
While not looking within.

You say, “I’d not have walked that path
Had I been living then”,
Only to pour disdain and rage
Upon your fellow men.

Do not look down on other’s sin
While writhing in your own,
For you will surely reap the fields
Of bitterness you’ve sown.

Turn back and seek the forgiveness
That you have failed to give.
Cast out the darkness from yours hearts,
And, in His Light, then live.

Matthew 23: 29-32
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous, saying, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ Thus you witness against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers. You serpents, you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to hell?
