I lost another friend today.
Heaven has called her home.
The names of those I’ve loved and lost
Could fill a bulging tome.
I know that she is now at peace,
Her body, well and whole,
Her faith has led her to the throne
Of Him who cleansed her soul.
Yet, we are left with emptiness
Where her bright joy once shone.
I’m grateful she is safely home,
But now we are alone.
Lord, help us to hold to that faith
Which gave her so much strength,
That we may hug her once again
When we come home, at length.
Luke 23:43
And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
