We build the shelter of our lives,
On money or on fame,
To see it crash before our eyes.
Our pride becomes our shame.
For no shelter built on the sand
Of mortal man’s desire
Can stand within life’s fierce tempests,
Our self-destructive fire.
But when we build beneath His wing,
In the shadow of Grace,
We find we can withstand life’s storms,
Sheltered in His embrace.
Psalm 91:1
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest
in the shadow of the Almighty.
